ICANN Puts the Smackdown on GoDaddy Lockdown | ICANN Puts the Smackdown on GoDaddy Lockdown |

According to Slashdot, ICANN is putting a stop to GoDaddy's practice of locking down a domain for 60 days each time a customer updates his or her whois records. This is great news for me because I've been selling domains out of my reseller accounts and have experienced how frusterating this is here and here. While I learned that the 60 day lock on change of whois isn't actually against ICANN's policy as of yet, ICANN is working to change this .

I'm not even sure why Godaddy would so something like this. If I want to sell a domain as soon as I get it, that is my business, none of theirs. I think I would go with another company if that is the case. I am the customer and I am always right or my money stays in my pocket and I go elsewhere.
