| Why I Don't Provide Mass Domain Development Services |

Domainers now have many options to monetize their domain portfolio: parking, affiliate programs, mini sites, mass domain development, etc. As a domain developer, I have the ability to help with many of these domain monetization strategies but I choose to focus myself on a niche skill which means my services are for a particular type of domainer and a particular type of domain/focus. More precisely, although I can and will build "mini sites", I still look for ways to make the website more than just content and SEO focused. My main belief is: if you are going to take the time to develop a domain the end result should be a domain that works hard over and over and over. The main reason I do not provide mass domain development services are the vulnerabilities that come into play:
Search Engines Change Sometimes the slightest change in a search engine's algorithm could mean death for thousands of ranked sites. If your mass developed sites are already 'set in stone', they will lose rank quickly or fall off the map completely.
Scripts Need Updating Referring to sites built on Wordpress, Joomla, etc: these scripts require updates about every 6 months or so. Sometimes sooner. Old versions of scripts are usually open to security vulnerabilities.
Dead Sites Lose Rank Most of the time, dead sites lose rank. If you have several domains surrounding a topic chances are there are thousands more out there that will be published in the future and out rank your keyword.
Content WAS King Content used to be King - in the 1990's....But now we have interactivity that users want, request and expect besides content.
If you do decide to mass develop your domains (or mini sites):
Remember, the companies who provide these services are young and the verdict is still out whether these monetization strategies provide actual results or are nothing more than glorified MFA (made for adsense) pages. I have heard a good mix of positive and negative remarks about these two development methods. Hopefully, they are good solutions to post-domain parking and pre-full scale development. Feel free to post your comments about the experiences you had with mini sites and mass domain development: Tags:
