Development Idea 3: Recycle Content and Old Blog Posts

Recycling old content will instantly add value to any website and bring them back from the archive cemetery. There are many situations where you have content leftover from old websites and failed projects or perhaps you have stale blog content from years back that became irrelevant.

For instance, you could take a five year old article about social marketing and update it with relevant information from the latest social networks. Or perhaps there are several articles that could use better SEO and just some touch up paint.

What’s great about this is you don’t have to rewrite the whole article or blog post. Just take out the parts that make it dated and upgrade to make it current. I’m sure you learned a lot between then and now so there will be plenty of opportunities to upgrade stale content.

Republishing Old Content

Now that you’ve upgraded that content dinosaur, there are several ways you can republish your updated piece:

  • send a newsletter
  • republish the new works
  • as an ebook
  • as a forum post
  • post it on a social website
  • use it as a guest post on another blog
